YouTube TV raises its monthly subscription price to $65 following new channel additions

We have learned that YouTube is increasing the price of its live streaming YouTube TV service which is from $50 to $65 per month for new subscribers. For current YouTube TV users will see their service prices increases on the next billing cycle after June 30.

Last time YouTube increased its price was $50 per month in April 2019. Before it was $40 per month in 2018. YouTube launched its TV service with $35 in 2017 however today it’s nearly doubled to $65 per month.

Youtube made statement that the increased price for Youtube TV is due to the rising cost of content. They also explained that the higher price point reflects the “complete value” of YouTube TV. It starts to offer eight of ViacomCBS’s channels: BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, TV Land, and VH1.

For comparison, Hulu’s Live TV plan costs $54.99 and Sling TV at $45 per month are probably best alternative ways to get. The increase on YouTube TV might be somewhat understandable, since YouTube’s goal to expand the features and number of channels available on the service. It means they now have more than 70 channels.
